Iraqi security and military forces repelled, Sunday evening, an attempt of assassinating Saif al-Khayyat, journalist, near al-Firdaws Square in Baghdad.
Hadi Jello Maree, JFO head aide said that he was close to al-Khayyat when unknown armed men started shooting towards him, but the army checkpoint and the police patrol interrupted the attackers and one of the soldiers tried to stop the white passed car of the attackers, but they ran away heading Sadoon street direction.
