Reporters humiliated

Journalistic freedoms observatory (JFO) denounces the aggression against Afaq satellite channel staff in Diwaniya and asks all the governmental associations to educate their cadres about the importance of the press as a fourth power.

Reporter of the channel in Diwaniya jameel al-Khattat told the JFO that his news team was abused and beaten by the FPS of the al-Rafidain bank.

He adds that they were to make a report about the smart card, but a guard hit the photographer Kareem al-Ghurabi who did not react to the aggression.

Al-Khattat astonished that the manager of the bank Iman Saree did not interfere to stop the guard or to apologize from the channel team.
Al-Khattat asks to draft a legislation to guarantee the right of the journalists to work freely and to reach for the information with out any obstacles.

JFO asks all the security heads in Diwaniya to investigate the aggression and to punish those who tried to hinder the journalists achieving their duties.
